Vanilla Bean Scone

Again, mine do not look so pretty, but taste rules in this house.  These are delicious and come together very quickly.

Dry Ingredients:
2 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c sugar
5 Tbsp cold butter cut into pieces (or use large holes on box grater)

Wet Ingredients:
1 c sour cream
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract

Glaze:
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
a splash of vanilla
1 Tbsp-esque milk

Preheat oven to 400. Whisk dry ingredients together. Cut cold butter into ingredients until flour resembles coarse meal.
In separate bowl whisk together sour cream, egg yolk and vanilla until blended. Add this to dry ingredients and stir with fork until dough forms ball.  It helps to use your hands, it may take while but will eventually come together.
Place dough on ungreased cookie sheet and cut into wedges (it helps it cook better if you separate them a little bit) Or use mini scone pan if you have one.

Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.

While scones are baking make the glaze, mix sugar and vanilla, and slowly add milk until it is a little runny.  Top the completed scones and serve warm.
